the cultural sector. We exist to encourage fresh thinking and innovation in a sector that can change people’s lives.

Did you know? There are 2,500 museums and galleries throughout the UK – that’s more than the big four supermarkets put together.   100 million visits are made to UK museums every year – more people through the turnstiles than football.   UK museums look after about 1 billion artefacts on behalf of all of us – that’s 17 things for every single person in the country.   About 100,000 people work in museums and galleries and they turn over around £1.5bn a year.   Roughly 40% of the population visit at least once a year – that means museums and galleries touch the lives of around 25 million people between your last birthday and your next.
